AMA Group Pty Ltd (“AMA Group”, Stock Code: AMA.AX), Australia’s leading collision repair and automotive supply business, has entered into a strategic service agreement with Gemilang International Limited (“GEMILANG”), a Hong Kong-listed (Stock Code: 6163.HK) bus and bus body manufacturer based in Malaysia. This collaboration aims to develop environmentally friendly bus body building solutions for next-generation fully electric buses and establish local assembly capabilities in Australia.
“Through this partnership, AMA Group is excited to bring its operational expertise to support the local assembly of next-generation fully electric buses in Australia. By integrating GEMILANG’s innovative aluminium bus body technology, we will assist in creating a strong and competitive presence for GEMILANG’s technology in the Australian bus market,” said Mathew Cooper, CEO of AMA Group. He added, “AMA Group will utilize GEMILANG’s bus body kit solutions to assemble these buses in the current Wales Heavy collision repair facilities nation wide, as a natural extension to the extensive bus repair work they currently complete.
Over the past 35 years, GEMILANG has exported buses and body kits to over 15 markets worldwide, including Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, the USA, and Dubai. GEMILANG’s bus body kit solutions are widely recognised, with over 1,000 units delivered to Singapore and 500 units to Uzbekistan.
